Getreu dem Ruhrgebiets-Motto „Was nicht passt, wird passend gemacht“, bedient sich das Dortmunder „Tanzorchester Paschulke“ bei ganz unterschiedlichen Stilrichtungen und bringt mit seinen Mitgliedern selbst verschiedene Kulturen in die Musik ein – eine besonders wichtige Inspirationsquelle ist dabei die energiereiche Musik des Balkans. Das Tanzorchester Paschulke mixt traditionelle Melodien und Rhythmen mit bekannten Pop-Songs, während die Texte mit westfälischer Schnoddrigkeit die Malocher-Kultur des Ruhrgebiets liebevoll auf den Arm nehmen.

Namenspatron der Band ist „Hausmeister Paschulke“ – eine typische Ruhrgebietsfigur, dementsprechend jedoch häufiger anne Bude, als bei der Arbeit anzutreffen.

Glücklicherweise ist auf Hausmeister-Assistenten Vlad, alias Carsten Schnathorst, Verlass. Mit seiner explosiven und dynamischen Stimme hält er den Betrieb am Laufen.

Oder ziehen doch Frau Paschulke oder Mike, der rappende Security-Beauftragte, die Strippen?

In jedem Fall sorgt die Bläserfraktion für den gepfefferten Balkan-Ska-Mix, die Time Gorgiev am Akkordeon mit Original-Balkan-Melodien würzt.

Die Rhythmuscombo sichert verlässlich die Grundlage für die Tanzbein-Arbeit des Publikums. Sollte dabei noch weitere Inspiration nötig sein, geht die tanzende Putzkolonne mit gutem Beispiel voran und macht nicht nur den Kolleg:innen auf der Bühne Dampf.

Was dabei herauskommt, ist ein ganz eigener und äußerst tanzbarer Stilmix, den die Band Ruhrpott-Balkan getauft hat.

True to the Ruhr region motto "if it doesn't fit, we’ll make it fit" the Dortmund-based "Tanzorchester Paschulke" draws from a wide variety of musical styles, with its members bringing diverse cultural backgrounds of their own into the music; a particularly vital source of inspiration is the high-energy music of the Balkans. Tanzorchester Paschulke blends traditional melodies and rhythms with well-known pop songs, while their lyrics - delivered with typical Westphalian cheekiness - lovingly poke fun at the working-class culture of the Ruhr area.

The band’s namesake is "Hausmeister Paschulke" (Caretaker Paschulke) - a quintessential Ruhr figure who, true to form, is more often found hanging out at the local corner shop than actually doing any work.

Fortunately, his assistant, Vlad - a.k.a. Carsten Schnathorst - is someone you can count on. With his explosive and dynamic vocals, he keeps the whole operation running smoothly.

Or is it actually Frau Paschulke - or perhaps Mike, the rapping security guard - who is really pulling the strings?

In any case, the horn section delivers a spicy Balkan-Ska blend, seasoned with authentic Balkan melodies by accordionist Time Gorgiev.

The rhythm section reliably lays down the foundation for the audience to get their groove on. Should anyone need a little extra inspiration to hit the dance floor, the "dancing cleaning crew" leads by example - and doesn't just light a fire under their bandmates on stage.

The result is a truly unique and eminently danceable stylistic fusion - a sound the band has christened "Ruhrpott-Balkan."
