Kaleidoskop - ein poetischer Funkenflug der Virtuosität: sehnsuchtsvoll, verheißungsvoll und erfüllend zugleich. Vier ganz und gar außergewöhnliche Musiker spannen einen weiten musikalischen Bogen, um mit Eleganz und Charme Modern Jazz mit folkloristischen Elementen aus Südosteuropa und dem Orient zu verweben.

Kaleidoskop bedeutet übersetzt soviel wie “schöne Formen sehen“ und hier kann man sie buchstäblich hören, als ein brillantes Changieren aller Spektralfarben, gebündelt in einem hinreißenden Klangereignis. Saxophonist Dimitrij Markitantov verbindet gekonnt fulminant das moderne Jazzsaxophon mit dem vibrierenden, flirrenden Sound Südosteuropas. Eingebettet und umgeben von Christian Hammers Jazzgitarre, die mal kontrastierend, mal ergänzend wirkt, mal klangvoll umspielend, leise, vorsichtig tastend, dann wieder dezidiert, kraftvoll, voll stilistischer Brillanz. Alex Morsey legt mit Kontrabass und Tuba das eindrucksvolle Fundament der Musik und setzt mit seiner einzigartigen Spielweise auch solistische Glanzpunkte von überwältigender Musikalität. Die rhythmischen Fäden hält dabei Fethi Ak in seinen Händen, der mit seiner atemberaubenden und temporeichen Percussionkunst den Rahmen markiert, der den Raum öffnet für die Interpretation eigener Kompositionen wie für Bearbeitungen aus Jazz und World Music.

Kaleidoskope - a poetic flurry of virtuosity: longing, promising, and fulfilling all at once. Four entirely exceptional musicians span a wide musical spectrum, elegantly weaving modern jazz with folkloric elements from Southeast Europe and the Orient.

Translated, Kaleidoscope means "seeing beautiful forms," and here, one can literally hear them as a brilliant interplay of all spectral colours, bundled into a captivating sonic experience. Saxophonist Dimitrij Markitantov expertly connects the modern jazz saxophone with the vibrant, shimmering sound of Southeast Europe. Nestled and surrounded by Christian Hammer's jazz guitar, which acts as both contrasting and complementary, sometimes melodically intertwining, softly, cautiously probing, then decisively, powerfully, full of stylistic brilliance. Alex Morsey lays down the impressive foundation of the music with double bass and tuba, adding solo highlights of overwhelming musicality with his unique playing style. Holding the rhythmic threads is Fethi Ak, whose breathtaking and fast-paced percussion artistry marks the frame, opening up space for the interpretation of original compositions as well as arrangements from jazz and world music.
